Excited to be partnering with MIT BrainTrust to advocate for people with brain injuries on the East Coast!
MIT BrainTrust is a student-led organization that supports individuals with brain injury. We understand that individuals with brain injury often struggle with social isolation and loneliness, which contributes to their increased risk for anxiety and depression. Through our buddy program, established in 1998, we provide individuals with brain injury the opportunity to be paired with a student buddy, who provides an additional supportive relationship and listening ear. We also organize events to provide individuals with brain injury with an opportunity to connect with and support one another, as well as the empowering opportunity to educate others by sharing their experiences. During COVID, we host free zoom events with various speakers on brain injury-related topics, as well as peer support meetings consisting of exclusively brain injury individuals. Our members report that being a part of this supportive community significantly improves their quality of life. If you are interested in being added to our newsletter or attending our meetings (no commitment necessary), please send us an email at email@example.com.
